Dave Fliss "On Loving Life"
“Loving Life” is the perfect phrase to describe Dave and how he appreciated and loved living his life! For those of you who had the honor to know Dave, or even those who may have crossed his path for a few minutes, Dave expressed a passion for every second of life. His passion was present whether he was working at all hours of the day and night, interfacing with customers, or most importantly, sharing his life with Tan Jie along with his vast and loyal network of friends.
For those of you who may not know, Dave was a pioneer in the field of Medical Device Manufacturing and Global Sourcing. His extensive tenure in the industry began during his High School days while working at a warehouse for a major healthcare company located in the greater Chicagoland area.
After graduating from Northern Illinois University, Dave continued his career in healthcare, rapidly progressing in a variety of roles and areas of responsibility. He held leading positions in the areas of finance, manufacturing and global sourcing and purchasing while serving as a mentor to many!
Dave’s knowledge, experience and business acumen was well respected throughout the global industry by both his professional colleagues, as well as our valued customers too. It was Dave’s passion for healthcare which ultimately led to the formation of Welmed in 2006. Along with his beloved wife Tan Jie, Welmed’s mission was evident, “To be a nimble partner delivering quality disposable medical products, unparalleled service and competitive pricing without the inherent challenges of working with much larger organizations”.
Dave embraced empowerment amongst his employees and created a “family” culture. His professional legacy lives on through Welmed today. Moreover, while his genuinely kind and generous characteristics, along with his passion to “Love Life” are sorely missed, the entire team and all his friends work hard to take Dave’s philosophy and truly “Love Life”!
